Break the stale gum in a pack of Topps.  Reggie Jackson, Pete Rose.  Dad has just sprung for some cards and a Snickers for my brother and me with the change from his Hamilton for filling up the Mercury Monarch.

The 1970’s. A day when Unleaded was “premium,” and there was a great big seatbelt that harnessed the whole gang of kids across the middle of the pick-up’s bench seat.

Growing Up with Syar Concrete Trucks

Here I am at age 2 1/2 at my dad’s construction site. My babysitter, Janine, holds me up next to one of my first loves, a great big Syar concrete truck.
